CVE-2025-9376Network attack vector

Unauthenticated traffic-control bypass via missing capability check

Published Aug 28, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Incorrect authorization in the Stop Bad Bots WordPress plugin 11.58 and earlier allows remote attackers to bypass traffic controls. The stopbadbots_check_wordpress_logged_in_cookie function fails to require the manage_options capability before exempting a request from filtering. No account is required; successful requests evade blocklists, rate limits, and related anti-bot controls, reducing protection and exposing related plugin data.
