Authenticated code execution via unchecked rule parameters
Published Aug 23, 2025 · Updated Aug 25, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Linksys RE6250, RE6300, RE6350, RE6500, RE7000, and RE9000 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The portTriggerManageRule function in mod_form.so copies unbounded triggerRuleName or schedule input into a stack-local buffer, overwriting its return address. A valid management session is required; an oversized POST to /goform/portTriggerManageRule can crash the device or redirect control flow.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
