CVE-2025-9362Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked stack copy

Published Aug 23, 2025 · Updated Aug 25, 2025

Stack-based overflow in six Linksys RE extenders allows remote authenticated users to execute code through crafted URL-filter fields. In mod_form.so, urlFilterManageRule copies urlFilterRuleName, scheduleUrl, and addURLFilter into a stack local without length checks, allowing oversized input to overwrite its return address. A valid management session is required; the published request demonstrates a persistent service crash, while code execution is claimed but not demonstrated.
