CVE-2025-9338

Local privilege escalation through AsIO3.sys memory bounds failure

Published Nov 6, 2025 · Updated Nov 6, 2025

Memory-bounds error in the AsIO3.sys driver in ASUS Armoury Crate 6.2.11 and earlier allows local users to gain elevated privileges. ASUS identifies improperly restricted buffer operations in AsIO3.sys but does not disclose the affected routine, input path, or exact out-of-bounds operation. Exploitation requires low local privileges and a specially crafted process; successful use grants elevated access on the Windows host.
