Password disclosure via weak MD5 hashes

Weak password hashing in AVEVA Edge 2023 R2 and earlier allows local users to recover passwords from project or offline-cache files. Edge Project and Edge Offline Cache files store app-native or Active Directory passwords as MD5 hashes suitable for computational brute-forcing. The attacker must already have read access to one of these files; recovery exposes the corresponding user credentials.
