Unauthorized device registration via unauthenticated JSON endpoint
Published Dec 10, 2025 · Updated Dec 10, 2025
Improper object-attribute control in Moxa MXsecurity Series 2.3.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to register unauthorized devices. The /api/v1/devices/register endpoint accepts a specially crafted JSON payload and creates a device registration without authenticating the request. Network access to the web service is sufficient; exploitation causes limited integrity impact on the affected system and no reported confidentiality or availability impact.
