Remote command execution via unsanitized OAuth URL
Published Aug 20, 2025 · Updated Aug 21, 2025
OS command injection in wong2 mcp-cli 1.13.0 allows remote attackers to execute commands when a user connects to a malicious MCP server. redirectToAuthorization passes the server-supplied OAuth authorization URL directly to the open package without validation or sanitization. The demonstrated injection uses PowerShell subexpressions on Windows and requires a user to direct the client to an attacker-controlled Streamable HTTP server.
