Authenticated code execution via unchecked ssidhex copy
Published Aug 20, 2025 · Updated Aug 21, 2025
Stack overflow in Linksys RE6250, RE6300, RE6350, RE6500, RE7000, and RE9000 allows remote authenticated users to crash the device. RP_pingGatewayByBBS in mod_form.so copies the unbounded ssidhex parameter into a stack variable, overwriting the function return address. A valid web-management session is required; the demonstrated consequence is persistent service interruption, while return-address control enables code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
