Subscriber-level extension enablement via missing capability check
Published Sep 3, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Post SMTP 3.4.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to enable Pro extensions through an AJAX request. The update_post_smtp_pro_option_callback function updates the Pro-extension option without checking whether the caller has the required capability. A Subscriber-level account is sufficient, and the established consequence is limited to unauthorized enablement of those extensions.
