Physical code execution via unauthenticated maintenance menu
Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Sep 9, 2025
Missing authentication in CompactLogix 5480 versions 32 through 37.011 allows physically proximate attackers to execute arbitrary code. The controller maintenance menu accepts a crafted payload for a code-execution function without requiring authentication. Physical access to the controller is required, and successful exploitation grants code execution on the affected controller rather than remote network access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
