Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG upload
Published Aug 19, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Scada-LTS 2.7.8.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser. The SVG file handler accepts an SVG supplied through backgroundImageMP without blocking embedded JavaScript, then serves it from /uploads/[ID].svg. Low-privileged access is required to create a view and upload the file, and execution occurs when another user opens the stored SVG URL.
