Reflected XSS via unsanitized app identifier
Published Aug 17, 2025 · Updated Aug 18, 2025
Reflected XSS in Express Gateway 1.16.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted app ID. The GET /apps/:id route inserts req.params.id unescaped into an HTML 404 response sent with res.send(), so a browser interprets injected markup as executable code. Exploitation requires an exposed Admin API and a legitimate user to open the crafted URL; successful execution alters browser-side content in that user's session.
