Authenticated code execution via unbounded configuration formatting
Published Aug 16, 2025 · Updated Aug 16, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC20 16.03.08.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted list parameter. save_virtualser_data parses attacker-controlled fields and passes them to sprintf for a fixed 256-byte stack buffer without length bounds. Access to the management interface and a valid session cookie are required; exploitation can execute code or crash and reboot the router.
