Admin RCE via unvalidated import directory
Published Sep 19, 2025 · Updated Sep 19, 2025
Path traversal in Mattermost allows remote authenticated users with administrator rights to execute arbitrary server code. The import directory path configuration is accepted without validation, allowing a crafted plugin upload to resolve into the prepackaged plugins directory and load as server code. Affected releases are 9.11.0 through 9.11.17, 10.5.0 through 10.5.8, 10.8.0 through 10.8.3, 10.9.0 through 10.9.3, and 10.10.0 through 10.10.1; administrator access and plugin upload capability are required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
