CVE-2025-9074Public exploit

Container escape via unauthenticated Engine API

Published Aug 20, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Improper resource exposure in Docker Desktop 4.25 through 4.44.2 allows local users to control Docker Engine via a running Linux container. Docker Desktop exposes the Engine API without authentication at 192.168.65.7:2375 on its configured subnet, even when ECI is enabled and the TCP daemon option is disabled. A malicious container is required; Engine commands can control or create containers and, with the Windows WSL backend, mount host files with the desktop user's privileges.
