Privilege escalation in Broadcom Symantec IT Management Suite 8.6.x, 8.7.x, and 8.8 allows local users to gain elevated privileges. The AeXNSC.exe Core Agent Updater loads a DLL through an uncontrolled search path, allowing attacker-supplied code to run in its elevated context. The attack requires low local privileges and a DLL-placement opportunity, after which attacker-controlled code gains the updater's elevated rights.
