CVE-2025-9020

Unspecified local impact via MAVLink shell race

Published Aug 15, 2025 · Updated Aug 15, 2025

Use-after-free in PX4 Autopilot 1.15.0 through 1.15.4 allows local users to cause unspecified impact during MAVLink handling. A receiver thread can close and clear _mavlink_shell after the main thread checks it for null but before the main thread calls available() through the stale pointer. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and precise thread timing; the published record establishes no more specific consequence.
