CVE-2025-9005Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Username enumeration via distinguishable registration errors

Published Aug 15, 2025 · Updated Aug 18, 2025

Information exposure in Mtons Mblog 3.0 through 3.5.0 allows remote attackers to enumerate usernames through the /register endpoint. The registration handler returns distinguishable error messages when a submitted username already exists, exposing valid account names. The public proof of concept uses repeated unauthenticated registration requests, and the disclosed impact is limited to account-name exposure.
