SYSTEM code execution via unvalidated registry files
Published Aug 15, 2025 · Updated Aug 15, 2025
Privilege escalation in Mechrevo Control Center GX V2 5.56.51.48 allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM. The elevated installer consumes configuration .reg files without validating their integrity or authenticity, so a writable file can inject malicious Registry entries or commands. Exploitation requires low-privilege local access, write access to a consumed .reg file, and successful placement in the installer's high-integrity execution path.
