CVE-2025-8998Network attack vector

Authenticated process crash via crafted upload filename

Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025

Denial of service in AXIS OS 6.50 through 12.7 allows remote authenticated users to crash a process via a crafted file upload. The upload path accepts an attacker-controlled filename when writing into a temporary directory; Axis has not disclosed the affected process or filename condition. An operator- or administrator-privileged service account is required, and the documented consequence is limited to a process crash and impaired usability.
