CVE-2025-8958Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Router crash via unchecked SSID stack copy

Published Aug 14, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda TX3 16.03.13.11_multi_TDE01 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via an SSID. The form_fast_setting_wifi_set handler retrieves ssid with websGetVar and copies it into the fixed-size par stack buffer with strcpy without checking its length. The public proof of concept sends one POST and reports a freeze or crash requiring physical reboot, while the CNA assessment requires low privileges.
