Stored XSS via unescaped do_sidebar attributes
Published Sep 23, 2025 · Updated Sep 23, 2025
Stored XSS in Widget Options Extended 5.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through do_sidebar attributes. The shortcode accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and renders them without output escaping, persisting attacker-controlled JavaScript in page content. Contributor-level access is required, and the script executes in the browser of anyone who opens the injected page.
