Author-to-Administrator escalation via unrestricted registration roles
Published Mar 7, 2026 · Updated Mar 7, 2026
Privilege escalation in VideoWhisper PPV Live Webcams 7.3.20 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to create administrator accounts. The videowhisper_register_form() function accepts an administrator role in an attacker-created registration form without restricting assignable roles. Author access is sufficient to publish the form and register a new administrator; Contributor access also works if an administrator approves the page.
