Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked email update
Published Aug 16, 2025 · Updated Aug 16, 2025
Missing authorization in MagePeople E-cab Taxi Booking Manager 1.3.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over WordPress accounts. The REST API handler in inc/MPTBM_Rest_Api.php accepts a target user and replaces that account's email address without verifying identity or capability. No authentication or user interaction is required; changing an administrator's email enables a password reset and administrator access.
