CVE-2025-8890Public exploit

Root command execution via unsanitized diagnostic target

Published Nov 27, 2025 · Updated Mar 18, 2026

OS command injection in SDMC NE6037 firmware before 7.1.12.2.44 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The Ping and Traceroute tools pass the target-address value unsanitized into a shell command, so quote-and-pipe metacharacters splice in attacker-supplied commands. Exploitation requires administrator credentials and local-network access to the HTTP portal, which is exposed only through LAN ports by default.
