CVE-2025-8854Public exploit

Code execution via unbounded OFF token read

Published Aug 11, 2025 · Updated Aug 11, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Bullet Physics SDK before 3.26 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted OFF file. LoadOFF passes the file's initial token to an unbounded fscanf %s conversion that writes into a 1,024-byte stack buffer without enforcing its capacity. The VHACD test utility or PyBullet vhacd function must process the file; demonstrated behavior includes a process crash, while code execution depends on build protections.
