2FA disablement via missing code validation
Published Oct 30, 2025 · Updated Oct 30, 2025
Improper authentication in LibreChat before 0.8.0-rc2 allows remote authenticated users to disable 2FA without a valid code. The /api/auth/2fa/disable controller clears the stored TOTP secret and backup codes without validating a submitted TOTP or backup code. A valid session and enabled 2FA are required, and the operation weakens only the same user's account rather than compromising another account.
