CVE-2025-8838Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated article publishing via semicolon path truncation

Published Aug 11, 2025 · Updated Aug 11, 2025

Authentication bypass in the WinterChenS site application allows remote attackers to publish articles through a crafted admin URI without a token. BaseInterceptor.preHandle truncates the normalized request path at a semicolon, causing a login-prefixed traversal path to return true before authentication. Exploitation requires an unauthenticated request to the backend; the maintainer reports that the supplied path redirects to login, so the claim remains disputed.
