CVE-2025-8812Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via unencoded profile fields

Published Aug 10, 2025 · Updated Aug 12, 2025

Stored XSS in profile settings in atjiu pybbs 6.0 allows remote authenticated users to steal browser session cookies. The /api/settings handler stores telegramName, website, and bio values without neutralizing script markup, and profile and administrator views render them without output encoding. A normal account and a victim visit to an affected profile or user-edit page are required; script execution can expose user or administrator sessions because the cookies are not HttpOnly.
