AMF crash via unhandled delayed NUDM-SDM response
Published Aug 10, 2025 · Updated Aug 15, 2025
Denial of service in Open5GS AMF 2.7.0 through 2.7.5 allows remote attackers to crash the AMF via a delayed NUDM-SDM response. gmm_state_exception handles that response after the UE context is removed as an invalid service and reaches a fatal assertion. The crash requires a late internal SBI response during UE registration after context release, and its consequence is abrupt AMF process termination.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
