CVE-2025-8761Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Device crash via wrapped parameter key length

Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025

Integer overflow in INSTAR 2K+ and 4K cameras 3.11.1 Build 1124 allows remote attackers to crash the backend IPC server. The FCGI server stores a parameter-key length in a one-byte field without enforcing its 255-byte limit, so a long key wraps the length and makes the IPC server misparse the serialized message. No authentication is required; processing the malformed message aborts the server, leaves the camera unresponsive, and requires a reboot.
