CVE-2025-8760Network attack vector

Unauthenticated remote code execution via Basic Auth overflow

Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 13, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in INSTAR 2K+ and 4K Cameras 3.11.1 Build 1124 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. fcgi_server decodes an HTTP Basic Authorization header and uses memcpy to copy the result into a 516-byte stack buffer without checking its length. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the root-privileged service grants full control of the camera after successful exploitation.
