Sensitive-input theft via default task affinity
Published Aug 9, 2025 · Updated Aug 11, 2025
Task hijacking in Weee! RICEPO App 6.17.77 for Android allows local users to substitute a phishing activity and capture sensitive input. AndroidManifest.xml leaves the app's task affinity at its package-name default, so a malicious app can create a matching task stack and place a fake activity at its root. The attack requires a malicious app to be installed and run on the same device before the user launches RICEPO, enabling credential phishing on Android versions before 11.
