Authenticated command execution via unsanitized MCP parameters
Published Aug 7, 2025 · Updated Aug 7, 2025
OS command injection in agentUniverse 0.0.1 through 0.0.18 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through MCP connections. The connect_to_server_via_stdio methods and MCPTool and MCPToolkit configuration paths pass attacker-controlled command and args values into StdioServerParameters, which reaches anyio.open_process without validation. Reachability requires control of MCP connection parameters or dynamic MCP configuration, and commands run with the agentUniverse process privileges.
