Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Elliott Bernstein Inline Stock Quotes 0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The stock-shortcode renderer places user-supplied attribute values into generated page output without adequate sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store a payload, which executes in the browser of anyone who later opens the affected page.
