Protection mechanism failure in JVCKENWOOD DMX958XR 1.0.0509.3100 allows physically proximate attackers to install older firmware. The libSystemLib update path accepts firmware version information without adequately validating whether the image predates the installed release. Physical access and crafted update media enable the downgrade; code execution as root requires chaining another vulnerability.
