Unauthenticated code execution via forged JWT image upload
Published Sep 30, 2025 · Updated Sep 30, 2025
Remote code execution in copypressdev Copypress Rest API 1.1 through 1.2 allows remote attackers to execute PHP via a crafted image URL. The copyreap_handle_image() handler accepts a JWT signed with a hard-coded fallback key and saves URL-fetched attachments without file-type validation. No authentication is needed; a forged token permits a PHP payload to be stored and executed with the WordPress server's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
