Authenticated root code execution via ping injection
Published Sep 2, 2025 · Updated Sep 2, 2025
OS command injection in Vacron Camera devices allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through the webs.cgi ping function. The endpoint passes a user-supplied string to a system call without adequate validation, permitting command syntax to reach the operating system. High-privilege authentication is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code with root privileges.
