Subscriber-level site modification via exposed import nonce
Published Aug 6, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ThemeGrill Zakra 4.1.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to import demo settings through WordPress AJAX. The welcome_notice_import_handler() path exposes zakra_demo_import_nonce on subscriber-visible admin pages, then accepts it at the import_button AJAX action without checking a management capability. Subscriber-level access and a valid session suffice to load arbitrary demo content and alter stored site configuration; repeated imports can also consume server resources.
