UI spoofing via untracked floating Gemini widget
Published Aug 7, 2025 · Updated Aug 7, 2025
UI spoofing in Gemini Live in Google Chrome before 139.0.7258.66 allows remote attackers to obscure trusted dialogs via crafted HTML. The floating Gemini Live widget was not registered with the PictureInPictureOcclusionTracker, so it could cover security-sensitive dialogs without disabling their controls. Exploitation requires the user to open crafted content and perform specific interface gestures, enabling deceptive interaction with an obscured trusted prompt.
