Arbitrary file deletion via unchecked absolute paths
Published Sep 12, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Absolute path traversal in Ligne Web Services LWS Cleaner 2.4.1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete server files. The lws_cl_delete_file function accepts a file path without sufficient validation and deletes the referenced path instead of confining deletion to plugin-managed files. Administrator-level access is required; deleting a security-critical file such as wp-config.php enables code execution, while other deletions interrupt the site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
