Administrator-browser script execution via reflected search keyword
Published Aug 5, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2025
Reflected XSS in the /search endpoint of atjiu pybbs 6.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script in an administrator's browser. IndexController.search places the user-controlled keyword in the search-page model without output encoding, and the template reflects it into HTML. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open a crafted search URL, allowing script execution in that administrator's pybbs origin.
