Email enumeration via registration-state error response
Published Aug 5, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2025
Information disclosure in atjiu pybbs 6.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to enumerate registered email addresses through error responses. SettingsApiController.sendEmailCode queries userService.selectByEmail with the supplied address and returns a distinct error when a matching user exists. Repeated requests reveal which addresses are registered; the published assessment requires no privileges or user interaction but rates exploitation complexity as high.
