CVE-2025-8524Public exploit

Sensitive-data theft via Android task hijacking

Published Aug 4, 2025 · Updated Aug 4, 2025

Task hijacking in DotWallet 2.15.2 for Android allows local users to display a phishing activity and capture sensitive input. The app's AndroidManifest.xml leaves taskAffinity at its package-name default, so a malicious app can assign com.boquanhash.dotwallet to its activity and occupy the root of the shared task stack. Exploitation requires installation and use of a malicious app before the victim opens DotWallet on Android before 11, exposing entered account data or requested permissions.
