CVE-2025-8521Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped custom post-type menu fields

Published Aug 4, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2025

Stored cross-site scripting in givanz Vvveb 1.0.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an administrator's browser. The Add Type handler persists custom post-type menu values that admin/template/menu.tpl renders without applying htmlspecialchars to class and key fields. Administrator privileges are required to store the payload, and another user's visit to the generated administration menu triggers browser-side execution.
