Authenticated shortcode execution via unchecked action value
Published Oct 25, 2025 · Updated Oct 25, 2025
Code injection in Marketing Fire Discussion Board 2.5.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary shortcodes. An authenticated action passes an insufficiently validated request value to WordPress do_shortcode, which interprets it as shortcode markup. Subscriber-level access is sufficient; public sources do not identify the action or request parameter, so consequences depend on installed shortcode handlers.
