Origin spoofing via truncated blob URI display
Published Aug 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
URL spoofing in Mozilla Firefox for Android before 141 allows remote attackers to conceal a page's true origin with a crafted blob URI. The Android toolbar's narrow address-bar display gives the blob URI prefix priority over the registrable domain, hiding the attacker-controlled origin. A user must open the crafted content and activate its control, after which a fraudulent page can appear to belong to a trusted domain.
