Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked OTP login
Published Sep 6, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in ScriptsBundle AdForest 6.0.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to log in as any user through the OTP login flow. The sb_login_user_with_otp AJAX action accepts a caller-supplied user ID without verifying an OTP, then issues that account's WordPress session cookie. No existing session is required; the public proof of concept supplies a phone number and target user ID, and selecting an administrator grants site administration.
