Published Aug 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Arbitrary file deletion in Media Library Assistant 3.27 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete files from WordPress uploads. The _process_mla_download_file function accepts an insufficiently validated path and deletes the referenced file without an adequate capability check. Author-level WordPress access is required, and deletion is confined to /wp-content/uploads, allowing media loss or site-content disruption.
