Administrator account takeover via empty OTP acceptance
Published Aug 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in OTP Login With Phone Number 1.8.47 and earlier allows remote attackers to access administrator accounts. The lwp_ajax_register handler accepts empty verification values after a failed Firebase API response instead of rejecting them. The unauthenticated path is reachable when the Firebase API key is unset and a target account has a configured phone number, granting that account's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
